About

Claudio RAVIZZA was born in Gallarate (Italy) in 1955. After a failed career as soccer player and a degree in Electronic Engineerig at Milan Politecnico in 1980, he started as  junior SW Designer for digital switching systems at the Italian subsidiary of GTE Telecommunication Systems. He spent some time also in US, back to Italy became SW Supervisor. Then the headquarter decided to concentrate on US market and to get rid of overseas activities. Siemens took over,  and work continued in SW development for a promising wireless technology  (the GSM).

Over the time he got more involved in quality and processes issues, becoming a reference point for the SW Development community, and contributing to several local and global initiatives:
- process improvement programs
- process definition
- CMMI assessment
-  after the Nokia-Siemens merge, integration teams for Fault and Change Management.

At Nokia Siemens Networks he took responsibility for Quality Management of Base Station Controller SW, supporting the transition to Agile Development for a large scale organization. As Scrum Master Claudio was just a beginner at that time, but in the Agile values he felt the flavour of his way of working in the early days.

After successful application of Agile practices in some projects, in 2009 Nokia Siemens Networks decided to dramatically downsize R&D in Italy, and in 2010 a whole department was transferred to a trusted partner, namely Value Team (now NTT DATA Italia), where the adventure continued... ending in a VLP.

Currently retired, Claudio provides voluntary IT support to a vocational training institute, is involved in Eranmus+ programs, and attend courses at Bergamo University seeking to stay up-to-date on IT hot topics (eg Computer Security, AI).
