Christoph Meier

Christoph Meier is an Agile Coach and enthusiast of self-organizing human systems. His initial studies in natural sciences, (eco-)sytems and inter-species-relations shaped his view also of interactions between individuals and teams and even bigger entities. Many of the agile values have become predominant mental patterns in his life. After some years of developing web software with Liip, a leading swiss agency and stepping into the Scrum Master role he discovered that agile principles and values are not restricted to software, not even product development. The Cynefin framework helped Christoph understand why and when Scrum and agile pathways help in delivering work.

Agility on an organisational level is now his main interest, knowing that all agile behaviour must be implemented in individuals. "Self-organizing teams" is written in the Scrum guide as if it was clear how this works. With methods of e.g. Sociocracy 3.0 (inlcuding Holacracy™), Kanban, Non-violent communication, solution-focused psychology, The Responsibility Process™ and Clean Language interesting pathways are laid out that can be used.

With his own company Sfera he helps organizations that are taking first or second steps to apply agile methods and thinking in their work and organizational environment. Scrum – even if it is hard to master – is a promising starting point to make organizations dive into agile topics. As an evangelist of „Learning“ (another word for „inspect and adapt“) on all levels of an organization he is on his own learning journey and of course member of many Agile communities.

Christoph's preferred playground are Scrum Retrospectives and workshop formats where all kinds of creative and playful elements or metaphors can help teams and individuals discover the most valuable next steps in their own development.
