Carmen Chan

I'm Carmen Chan, and I am a pragmatic Agilist. I believe in Agile, because it is common sense. It is simply what happens when everyone is the best they can to delight the customer and still be in love with their work.

As an Electrical Engineering by training, I operate based on common-sense, logic and data, with a keen interest in how things work and then making them work better. From tasks I do at work, to chores I do at home I'm always analyzing and coming up with better ways of performing the same task. 

In 10 years in the software industry, I have been in a variety of roles, including QA, installer developer, build engineer, release engineer, project manager, automation engineer, DevOps and ScrumMaster. In each of the roles I tried my best to make myself obsolete by finding the most efficient and automated ways to perform my tasks, until I had freed up enough of my time to be doing some percentage of those roles all the same time!

I am a strongly believer in automation, continuous delivery and DevOps. I love to learn and I love to listen and help others be better at their job.
