About
I began my career in creative technology roles, initially within a design agency, as a creative with a strong interest in the innovative application of technology – I have an MA/Msc in Electronic Graphics. I gained management experience leading a twenty-strong team of creatives and technologists as Director of the catalogue company Innovations plc, which involved digital transformation and project delivery for catalogue, store design, point of sale store material and the launch of online retail for museums such as the Natural History, Science Museum and V&A. In this role, I was also responsible for the first secure online transaction in the UK in 1994 (online Innovations catalogue).
I have extensive experience of managing marketing and technology teams, leading and managing a variety of UI projects; responsible for the user-centered design work flow: research, client and user interviews, users and tasks analyses, information architecture, user interface definition, style and standard guides and usability tests. I have a strong understanding of continuous integration and test automation in Agile system lifecycles.
Industry Achievements
- Launched and managed the Disney Online Subscription Gaming ‘Blast’ service as part of Walt Disney Internet Group. Taking it from concept to launch across 18 international territories.
- Part of the Disney team that launched the Disney channel throughout the Middle East, North Africa and Islamic Asia.
- Built and established as lead, the user experience in-house team for the first App Store in the UK for Orange. Later sold service to Handmark Inc.
- Responsible for the first secure Internet transaction in the UK 1994 Innovations PLC.
- Delivered the strategic UX redesign for all Disney Resorts worldwide web and booking systems for all the Parks and Cruises.
- Led the first company to achieve one million downloads on Android Marketplace.
