I'm experienced in delivering and supporting enterprise software in leadership and development roles, fostering a team-based environment in order to deliver software solutions and value to customers.

I have extensive experience in Agile development, both as a Software Developer and as a Certified Scrum Master (CSM). In my CSM role, I've lead many different Scrum teams which have consistently delivered products that satisfy our customers. I'm experienced in running daily scrums, backlog grooming sessions, iteration planning, iteration reviews, and retrospectives. I have also mentored other Scrum Masters who are new to Agile processes. I place a high priority on communication and openness, fostering a healthy team atmosphere through mutual respect and trust. This is especially critical in Agile development, in which interactions and conversations among people take a higher priority over generating a lot of process artifacts.

I'm experienced in coordinating with and managing priorities for distributed, global Development teams, and working closely with other organizations, such as Customer Support, QA, Product Management, Services, Operations, Information Development (technical documentation), and Delivery teams.

To be effective as leaders, I believe managers of software engineers need to invest the time to understand the technical aspects and challenges faced by their employees through first-hand experience in the technologies being utilized. This not only means becoming well versed in those technologies, but contributing to Development, QA, and Support tasks, as needed.
