Dave Latimer

I'm Dave Latimer, I have been involved in software development and creation for over eighteen years.  The projects I’ve worked on followed various development methodologies, including waterfall, Scrum and a few in-between.  I’ve been a certified ScrumMaster for over six years and have loved the process of learning, implementing, failing, and continually improving. 

My Scrum journey has had a lot of ups and a few downs, but more importantly, it has given me invaluable experience with the process of learning and finding new ways to be better.   Being the first team in a large organization to move to Scrum was an incredible opportunity.  It was the first time the team had tried something like Scrum. It was particularly challenging because team members were spread across the US and India.  This included working through different time zones, varying mindsets, and external pressure to succeed. The team came together and not only created a better product, but became a better team and better individual contributors. 

Because of this success, I was trusted with additional projects and responsibilities---with teams of varying sizes.  I moved into the role of Agile evangelist, which expanded my responsibilities. In addition to leading Agile teams, I support other teams and projects through giving large presentations, and team and individual coaching.  I have loved this journey and all that I have learned  and I’m excited to learn more and be able to share my knowledge, experience, and observations with others.
