Title: Director - Software Architecture (Enterprise Architect)
Benny completed his Masters in Computer Application and has about 18 years of ‘formal’ IT experience, although he has been programming computers ever since his high school days.
He is currently with First American Title as the ‘Enterprise Architect’ responsible for overall software architecture at the corp level.
Benny has travelled around the world extensively in his consulting career. He has co-authored several books and articles on .NET and BizTalk for leading book publishers such as Wrox Press, Apress, Packt Publishing, and developer portals such as DevX, ASPToday, CSharpToday and DeveloperFusion.
Before joining First American, Benny was with Microsoft Consulting Services (Global Delivery) for 9 years as a Sr. Architect working on .NET, Identity Management (using FIM, ADFS, PKI, Azure AD), Enterprise Application Integration (EAI/SOA using BizTalk).
He was awarded Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) multiple times, GPGP (Great People Great Performance) Award and also the Technology Guru award while at Microsoft.
At First American he manages a team of (Sr.) Architects and works with various application groups in designing software solutions and guiding the development teams to deliver solutions while ensuring alignment with overall enterprise architecture, organization strategy, standards and best practices.
His team is also tasked with R&D on trending technologies, evaluating 3rd party products and providing recommendations to Sr. Management.
While at Microsoft, his primary job responsibilities was to understand customer requirements and proposing suitable solutions. He was also involved extensively in technical presales and responding to customer RFPs, apart from delivering solutions for customers worldwide.
Benny has presented multiple breakout sessions at TechReady – a 5-day technical conference / readiness event conducted every 6 months at Seattle for Microsoft employees, where thousands of employees from all over the world come to attend.
