Divya Karadi
In my project/program assignments I have undertaken so far the team sizes of the Agile projects varied from 5 to 20 members and I have successfully handled the various phases of their life cycle.
My Recent work experience, at Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as Scrum Master for Ecommerce project team; at ATO, I am leading one of the teams in Release train for Digital Delivery Solution section working closely with deployment team, backend (mainframes) services team, REST services team and Integration (ecommerce) teams. I am managed a team size of 9 members; escalated severity 1 & 2 issues to the head of the project and other stakeholders under Scrum, Inspect & Adapt meetings with other teams. Organized and managed different scrum celebration meetings like sprint planning, sprint backlog, sprint review and retrospective. Mentored and supervised the graduated team members. Generated scrum reports and test closure memo to Project governance team. Work closely with Systems team, internal team and product owner in delivering quality product to production environment using Microsoft Team Foundation Server. Additionally, I was responsible for reviewing development and testing progress, test cases, test scripts, test reports and project reporting to the project steering committee. My responsibilities have focused on delivering and maintaining a variety of systems ranging from stable and heritage to leading edge on-line and mobile capabilities.
At Geoscience Australia (worked 3 years); I was leading the scrum team in organizing the sprint planning, sessions, reviews and retrospective meetings. I believe that agile is a culture which needs some time to develop, through my journey at Geoscience Reviews, Retrospectives and Walkthroughs gave transparency and helped us to understand team’s strengths and weakness, which further helped me in fortifying responsibility and deliver culture into team dynamics. I being a natural mediator my role was to create opportunities for team/individuals to discuss pros and cons, which help them to understand and move on with the lessons learnt. Retrospective meetings helped me in running open forums where team gets an opportunity to discuss on what went well and where they need improvements. Working in an Applications Development team, I was involved in hiring resources and team members. I have formalized the creation of roles and responsibilities for manual, business / user acceptance and performance testers. I have coordinated technical and business stakeholders, such as the infrastructure team, in the design and validation of application servers, middle-tier servers, and database servers through Project plans.
Working in scrum roles the objective is delivery, to achieve this I believe in my strong facilitation skills. Ensuring the goal of every event is clear. This include the following
- Serving the team without being their servant.
- Helping the team make decisions and reach consensus that sticks;
- Addressing difficult attitudes, dysfunctional behaviours and unproductive attitudes that keeps meeting from achieving their outcomes
- Being a keen observer
- Stepping back as soon as you can support their continuous self-organisation;
- Knowing when to interrupt the team;
- Helping team get quality interactions;
- Delivering questions and challenges
