Questions and support

FAQ?

Check out the questions below for answers about certification, prerequisites, course requirements, and pricing. Need clarification or have a specific situation? We're here to help.

How is this different from Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)?

CSM focuses on the Scrum Master role: facilitating the team, removing impediments, and coaching. CSPO focuses on the Product Owner role: managing the product backlog, stakeholder engagement, and product vision. CSD focuses on being an effective development team member and understanding how to contribute to product delivery. Choose CSM if you facilitate teams, CSPO if you manage products, or CSD if you work on teams building products.

Are there any prerequisites?

No prerequisites are required. This is a foundational level course and is designed for anyone at any experience level. You do not need prior Scrum experience or coding skills.

Is this class only for programmers that can code?

No. Despite "Developer" in the title, this CSD course does not require any coding or programming skills. In Scrum, "Developers" refers to anyone on the team who contributes to building the product, including testers, analysts, designers, architects, and programmers.

What materials or equipment do I need?

Everything is provided. You will receive a comprehensive course workbook, access to our video resource library, and all training materials. For virtual classes, you will need a computer with a working microphone and camera. We use Zoom for video conferencing and Mural for online collaboration exercises. Both tools are free to use during the course and do not require paid accounts.

Is the certification included in the price?

Yes. Your registration includes the CSD certification fee and two-year Scrum Alliance membership. There are no additional costs.

Is there an exam?

No. This is not an exam-based certification. Your CSD credential is awarded upon attending and completing the entire course.

When will I receive my certification?

Scrum Alliance will email your CSD certification credentials within 48 hours of course completion.
