What is this course about?

This course provides practical skills for existing or aspiring Scrum Masters. The Scrum Master's role is pivotal to confirming delivery of value “early and often” to the customer, and continuous improvement in an organization’s application of Agile methods. You learn how to ensure that the values and mandatory rules of the Scrum Framework are enforced by self-managing Scrum Teams. In addition, key foundations of the Scrum Framework are taught, together with approaches for equipping you for effective change management in the wider organization.

This class is based on the Core Scrum guide, which describes the concepts of Core Scrum and forms the basis for the CSM test. After completing this course you be ready to pass the final CSM exam offered by The Scrum Alliance.  The course covers the Core Scrum concepts as well as more complex projects and teams, including challenges, risks, organizational impediments, estimating techniques and distributed teams.

All CSM courses are taught by Certified Scrum Trainers. Taking a CSM course, passing the CSM test, and accepting the license agreement designates you as a Certified Scrum Master, which indicates that you have been introduced to and understand the basic concepts you need to perform as a Scrum Master or team member on a Scrum team. This course also satisfies two elements of the Scrum Alliance CSD track: Scrum Introduction and Elective.  To complete the CSD certification you will need to take an approved technical course, such as Accelerating Agile Development for Scrum Teams or Agile Test Driven Development.
