Melanie Kong is an innovative and seasoned professional with over fourteen years of project management experience. Kong joined Cisco in 2000 as part of a Program Management Office where she managed training and development programs for the Service and Support Managers. In 2005, she joined an operations team in Advanced Services, monitoring global Service Level Agreements and providing reporting on Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty. Kong later worked as a Program Manager of the Customer Sentiment & Data Tool and Customer Experience Dashboard, delivering 16 consecutive releases successfully over the course of three years. Since 2011, Kong has worked as a Business Operations Manager in Technical Services, where she serves as the Product Owner for the Collaborative Learning Intelligence Platform (CLIP). Kong continues her successful track record by leading her team to deliver 11 successful releases. By building a platform that enables employees to effectively manage escalations and address customer issues, CLIP earned the Technical Services Pinnacle Award in 2013.
Kong has earned multiple globally recognized certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI), ITIL Foundations, Stanford Certified Project Manager (SCPM) through Stanford University, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) through the Scrum Alliance, and is an Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP). She is also a member of the Project Management Institute and Scrum Alliance. Kong also volunteers her time and project management expertise as a Pro Bono Consultant for the Taproot Foundation that serves the San Francisco Bay Area communities. Kong holds a B.S. in Design from the University of California, Davis and a M.A. in Museum Studies from San Francisco State University.
