Through organizational design, leadership development and strategy facilitation I support creative organizations to synthesize their creative ambitions and the needs of their stakeholders, communities and audiences. Based in Toronto, my practice focuses on designing interactions that leverage diverse perspectives and expertise to generate unexpected insights and commitment. Recently, I’ve been preoccupied with how we can describe and animate leadership that exists in a shared space. I’m also interested in how we make that shared space more accessible to those that don’t traditionally have a voice in issues that affect all of us. We seem to tacitly accept a power structure that favors certain ways of knowing over others and this excludes perspectives and approaches that are enormously valuable. Although fairness plays a role, it also is a pragmatic response to the fact that our approaches to leadership are woefully inadequate to address the problems we have created.
