Lead teams with confidence. Facilitate real change. Stop “doing Agile” and start being Agile.

This Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) workshop is a highly interactive, human-centered learning experience designed for people who want to actually help teams work better—not just memorize Scrum terms.

This is not a lecture-heavy class. And it’s definitely not a “sit back and take notes” kind of experience.

You’ll learn Scrum by doing Scrum—through simulations, real-world scenarios, facilitated discussions, and hands-on practice that mirrors what actually happens inside organizations.

Who this class is for

This workshop is ideal for:

  • Aspiring or new Scrum Masters

  • Project Managers, Team Leads, and Facilitators

  • Coaches, Change Agents, and Leaders supporting teams

  • Anyone expected to guide teams through complexity and change

You do not need a technical background. This class focuses on people, collaboration, decision-making, and value delivery—not coding.

What you’ll walk away with

By the end of this workshop, you’ll be able to:

  • Clearly explain Scrum roles, events, artifacts, and accountabilities (without sounding robotic)

  • Understand the true role of the Scrum Master as a facilitator, coach, and systems thinker

  • Help teams self-manage instead of relying on command-and-control

  • Identify common Scrum anti-patterns and know how to respond to them

  • Facilitate better conversations, better meetings, and better outcomes

  • Apply Scrum in real-world environments—not just “textbook Scrum”

How this class is different (and why people love it)

  • Brain-based learning (because humans don’t learn by slides alone)

  • High engagement: breakouts, activities, simulations, and discussion

  • Real scenarios pulled from marketing, operations, HR, product, and beyond

  • A relaxed, supportive environment that encourages questions and experimentation

  • No fluff. No jargon-for-the-sake-of-jargon. Just practical learning that sticks.

Certification details

  • This workshop fulfills the educational requirements to earn the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification

  • Your certification exam is taken online after the class

  • Two-year certification included upon passing the exam

Important expectations

  • Active participation is required (camera on, distractions minimized)

  • This is a collaborative learning environment—your voice matters

  • You’ll get the most value if you come curious, open, and ready to engage

If you’re looking for a modern, practical, and genuinely engaging way to become a Certified ScrumMaster—this is it.

Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM) Workshop Agenda

Live • Hands-On • Learn-by-Doing (No Slides)

This workshop is designed to be interactive and activity-driven. You’ll spend your time practicing Scrum through team exercises, simulations, and real-world scenarios—not watching a deck.

Session Flow & Timing

  • 7-minute breaks every 1 hour and 15 minutes

  • Two-day workshops: include a 30-minute lunch break (around 12:30 PM local time)

  • Three-day workshops: no formal lunch break—it’s a relaxed environment, feel free to eat and drink throughout

Topics We Cover (Aligned to Scrum Alliance 2020 CSM Learning Objectives)

Agile Foundations

  • What it means to be Agile (mindset and principles, not buzzwords)

  • Why Agile works (and why it fails when it’s treated like a process checklist)

  • The difference between Agile and Scrum.

    The Scrum Framework

  • Scrum theory: transparency, inspection, adaptation

  • Scrum values and why they matter in real teams

  • Roles/accountabilities: ScrumMaster, Product Owner, Developers

  • Events: purpose, outcomes, and how to make them valuable (not performative)

  • Artifacts and commitments: Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, Increment + commitments

The ScrumMaster Accountability

  • Servant leadership in practice (not “being nice”)

  • Coaching and facilitation skills for ScrumMasters

  • Helping teams build collaboration, ownership, and healthy conflict

  • Removing impediments vs. doing everyone’s job for them

  • Working with Product Owners and stakeholders without becoming a project manager

Applying Scrum (Hands-On)

  • Team-based simulations to practice Scrum concepts in action

  • How to handle common challenges:

    • Half-engaged stakeholders

    • “We’re Agile but…” constraints

    • Interrupt-driven work

    • Dysfunctional meetings

    • Confusion around “Done,” quality, and accountability

  • Practical ways to improve flow, teamwork, and outcomes immediately

Exam & Certification Readiness

  • What to expect for the CSM exam

  • Key concepts that commonly trip people up

  • Review and reinforcement through practice (not memorization)

Who should attend Agile Brain Group's CSM® course

All professionals looking to learn better and faster ways to create awesome products would greatly benefit from this training. While a great fit for software products, Scrum is increasingly popular across many other industries including retail, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, energy, oil and gas and beyond.

This class is a great place to network with like-minded folks interested in Scrum and Agile principles and practices. Our hands-on certification class is appropriate for both software and non-software professionals including:

  • Project Managers
  • Team Leads
  • Developers
  • Testers
  • Systems and Business Analyst
  • Product Managers
  • Functional Managers
  • Development Managers
  • Architects
  • Leaders
  • HR Professionals
  • Professionals looking for better ways to foster collaboration

This workshop is designed to be highly interactive and engaging. To ensure a great experience for everyone—and to meet Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM) certification requirements—please review the expectations below carefully.

🎥 Camera On, Please

This is a live, participatory workshop, not a webinar.

  • Your camera must be on for the duration of the class

  • Being visible helps build trust, engagement, and better discussion

  • If something unexpected comes up, communicate with the instructor

⏱️ Attendance Matters

  • You may not miss more than 30 minutes total across the entire class

  • Late arrivals, early departures, or extended absences count toward this time

  • Missing more than 30 minutes means you are not eligible for certification and may need to retake the class

🙋 Participation Is Required

This class depends on interaction—not passive listening. Expect to:

  • Join breakout discussions

  • Participate in activities and simulations

  • Share perspectives, ask questions, and reflect with others

You don’t need to be an expert. You do need to be present and engaged.

🚗 No Multitasking, No Car Classes

To get the most from this experience:

  • You cannot attend from a car, airport, public space, or while driving

  • Multitasking (email, side meetings, working in the background) defeats the purpose

  • Please join from a quiet, non-distracting environment where you can fully participate

If you wouldn’t try to facilitate a team meeting from that location, this class shouldn’t be taken from there either.

🧠 Focus & Learning Environment

  • Treat this as focused learning time

  • Silence notifications when possible

  • Come ready to think, engage, and experiment

  • A notebook (digital or paper) is strongly encouraged

📝 Certification Exam Requirement

  • The CSM certification requires passing an online exam after completing the class

  • You will receive exam access once class attendance and participation requirements are met

  • The exam is taken on your own time after the workshop

  • Two attempts are included with your certification registration

🤝 Shared Responsibility

This workshop works best when everyone shows up fully. Your engagement doesn’t just impact your learning—it impacts the experience for the entire group.

If you’re able to commit to being present, engaged, and on camera, you’ll get far more out of this class than any slide deck could ever deliver.
