The Certified Product Owner™ Certification focuses on the effectiveness paradigm. A good Product Owner ensures that we deliver those items that are most likely to increase company ROI, add value for the customer, and maximize learning. The continual learning from each release is used to adjust plans for future releases.

Product Managers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Epic Owners, QA Leads, Tech Leads, Business Owners, and others with similar roles will benefit by attending.

After the session you will be registered with the Scrum Alliance as a Certified Product Owner. More importantly, you and the other attendees will have the conceptual basis on how to clarify the vision (the why), find the value slices (the what), prioritize on value (what’s next), and determine when stories, features and releases are complete (what’s done).

You will learn how to apply the Scrum framework to product development and how to create a dual-track readiness maturation process to prepare your team for release planning events.

You will gain a practical understanding of the roles, artifacts and ceremonies of Scrum and of SAFe, via hands on exercises, discussion and simulation.

• Roles: RTE, Business Owner, Epic Owner, Product Manager, Product Owner, ScrumMaster, Team Member
• Ceremonies: Backlog Refinement, Release Planning, Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review & Sprint Retrospective
• Artifacts: Product Backlog, Team Backlog, Sprint Backlog, Burndown Chart

You will learn how to apply traditional agile techniques with Lean Startup™ and SAFe.

• SAFe: Scaled Agile Framework for the Enterprise, a framework that provides additional roles, ceremonies and artifacts for scaling up.
• Lean Startup: An approach to mitigating business risks, allowing us to apply Agile Methods to get to market quickly with a release that is also an experiment, learn from it, and use what we learned to adapt our approach.

Exercises, discussions, simulations, games (yes we really mean games), case studies, examples and fun (yes even jokes) are interwoven throughout the course to illustrate the principles being taught in an immersive, engaging manner so that you learn, while having fun.
