Gui (Garrick) Yang

I am an agile advocate and started my first agile project in my first employer Perficient China in 2009. I experienced the agile transformation of State Street from 2013 by joining the first pilot agile project and later work and accumulated a bunch of experience in agile transformation. I got CSP (Certified Scrum Professional) in 2015 and to be the first CSP in State Street Hangzhou. 

Currently I am an internal Agile Coach at state Street. I have been working in state Street Corporation (Zhejiang) for more than 11 years since 2011. In past years, I assumed the role as Developer, Team leader, Scrum Master. I have taken internal Agile Coach since 2016 and responsible for agile transformation in IT department. 

As the role of Agile Coach, I am responsible for promote agile methodology, coaching team to use Scrum/Kanban framework to delivery, use CI/CD, automation test, PDCA loop to accelerate speed, use Junit, clean code, TDD to build high quality code.  I also provide training and knowledge sharing on Agile practices to help team’s awareness and practice. Besides that, I joined internal transformation group to promote agile adoption in State Street Hangzhou and organized activities such as Agile Open day, agile clinic.

Besides work, I spend spare time on local agile community. From 2016, I have launched activity to promote agile practice in local IT firms by providing volenteer training. About 10 Training session conducted in local IT companies cover different industry. As a co-founder, another “coach clinic” non-profit public activity initiated from 2016, we have been invited by 20 IT companies to do on site coach clinic. I am the Hanghzou Agile community organizer as well, and organized yearly agile tour, agile sharing session. As a speaker, I was make sharing in RSG and agile tour. I also participated in agile material translation work to translate to Chinese, these materials include: Improving agile Retrospectives: helping Teams Become More Efficient, Plan for retrospective, Fun retrospective.

In my part time, I like Chinese Tai Chi and meditation. They have been my daily task for more than 10 years.
