Deepak Joshi

Deepak Joshi is a Certified ScrumMaster and Certified Scrum Product Owner who has served Indian Air Force for almost 20 years. In this tenure he performed various roles and dedicated more than 5 years in Information Technology. Worked with NetWeb software from Nov 2010 till Feb 2015 and led teams to succeed in software development. Deepak helped teams to understand and adopt agile practices during software development. He took up the role of ScrumMaster for 2 years. He has started working with SFW India as a Delivery Manger from Feb 2015 and is involved in the day to day delivery of agile development projects. He facilitates his teams as a ScrumMaster. Working on agile projects gave him confidence to achieve success and receive satisfaction from clients. The time boxing of events and their significance attracted him a lot. Through following the agile way of working not only he shifted towards a different mindset, he also helped the teams to adopt the same shift of mindset. He believes in transparency, openness and collaboration and the same he also coached to teams. In his view the ‘pull’ way of working yields the required results than having a push work environment. He learnt various estimation techniques which helps teams and senior management to estimate well. He exhibited the low risk (fail fast) way of working which created a confidence in project/product deliveries. In his current organization he provides scrum coaching to the new joiners and facilitates monthly meetup to train the trainers. In addition to it, he is the scrum group owner of Agile Practices Vadodara Chapter, Gujarat, India. More than 20 agile evangelists have joined this group and attend monthly meet-ups. This group is growing with pace. All members come with different ideas and all get insight of these ideas. In past four years he created a lot of awareness of agile practices in Vadodara. The local user group meetings are generally held once in a month. He believes in Being agile than Doing agile. He keeps completer transparency with all the stakeholders and in his view, following scrum ceremonies itself ensures that all stakeholders are synchronized. He enjoys facilitating various games during sprint retrospectives. He also invented a few games and tried those in his team. He got very positive results and he also published those games in his blogs to spread those to the world where other scrum teams may get benefitted. All such experiences he writes in his blogs so maximum people can read and get new ideas. Deepak believes to work in collaboration with clients so at times he explains the benefits of agile model of project deliveries. The low risk and more visibility, shorter wait period in terms of sprint and maximum satisfaction are the key points which clients like much and get their agreement on taking up new projects in agile model.
