Our Approach

Sprightbulb Learning's Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) training class is a two-day experience that fully immerses students in Agile principles and the concepts and practices that define the Scrum framework.

This course allows students to take the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) exam after training to become Certified ScrumMasters. This course also allows students to claim 16 Scrum Alliance Scrum Education Units (SEUs) and 14 Project Management Institute (PMI) Professional Development Units (PDUs) which can be applied to Project Management Professional (PMP) and PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certifications.

CSM Exam

Upon successful completion of the course, students are eligible to take the Scrum Alliance's Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) exam to become Certified ScrumMasters. The exam is an open-book, hour-long, 50-question test that requires a passing score of 37 correct answers. Students who complete the CSM course receive two prepaid exam attempts. Any student who does not pass the exam after two attempts may retake Sprightbulb's CSM course for free. Since 2018, 98% of Sprightbulb Learning's students have passed the exam on their first attempt, and 100% have passed by a second attempt.

Teaching Style

The class is presented in a highly interactive and collaborative format with elements of lecture, classroom discussion, exercises, games, simulations, and video interwoven throughout the class. Students will have the opportunity to hear real-world examples of Agile application from their instructors.

Location Details

Classes on both days will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Navy League Building, located at 2300 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 700, Arlington, Virginia 22201. The Navy League Building is located two blocks from the Court House Metro station on the Orange and Silver lines. Self-paid parking is also available nearby.

I am an instructional designer with 30 years of training design, development, and delivery experience. The course's isomorphic modelling design and key participant interactions is admirable. The small group discussion and activities moved the learners up the Gagne hierarchy which allowed us to delve into more interesting conversations in group. Rich's facilitation skills and using Zoom were exemplary. Very worth the time and money. Oh, I got passed the CSM certification test on the first try!
