Sean Eby

I began my career with a sole proprietorship as a software developer and consultant for small and medium-sized businesses. During my undergraduate studies, I worked for Computer Sciences Corporation on enhancing the technology and data center operations for Hyatt Hotels International. The following year I was a software engineer at Abbott Laboratories where I built a distributed, automated testing product used internally to power the regression testing needs of Abbott Diagnostics' ARCHITECT line of clinical chemistry products. After completing my undergraduate degrees in Math and Computer Science at Northern Illinois University, I advised Fortune 500 clients on technology implementation and strategy issues as a consultant with Deloitte Consulting. After a run of successful client engagements at Deloitte, including projects at Nationwide Financial Services, Motorola, Kaiser Permanente, Thrivent Financial, AIG, and Fairview Health Services, I left Deloitte to work with ShopLocal.com as a Lead Developer, practicing Scrum to build out their online & local shopping website with a team of 10 developers and testers. In September 2007, I along with 2 colleagues from Deloitte, launched Poll Everywhere, the first real-time interactive feedback product using mobile devices. Since then, the company has grown, raised capital from Y Combinator, and continues to expand into new customer segments and international markets.
