I am currently working as an Agile Project Manager for a large insurance company. I am enjoying working with and continuing to develop the talent of the engineers and architects on my team. They truly are high performing! I am currently studying for the PMI-ACP exam and am considering furthering my education with an MBA. Working full time with three kids will make that process go slow, but I believe it might be the right path in regards to where I see my career going in the future.

Status up to end of 2018

I started out in my career as a web developer and enjoyed being a change agent wherever I was. With that in mind, I sought after and acquired my PMP certification to solidify my understanding of project management practices and the tools and techniques that are used. After awhile, I attained my CSM. I did this because I realized that in my line of work, agile was what we were using in our Software Development Lifecycle. My PMP is still highly beneficial, as it allows me to have the skills to manage projects in a more traditional waterfall style where needed. Ultimately, my employer is not dead set on a single framework in which to practice agile and I have being researching/educating myself as much as possible to provide the understanding of agile and its core principles behind the manifesto. Recently, I have acquired my CSP and I continue to enjoy and share the Agile process with my peers.
