Deepak Agnihotri “Promoting Scrum to transform the world of work”.

I grew up in the ‘city of lakes’ Bhopal, after completing graduation, I moved to Pune a beautiful city in western India, there I started my professional career with Capgemini as a software developer, I learned new things, made friends and became passionate about computer programming. While at Capgemini I felt the urge to know myself better and do more for society hence I decided to volunteer for an NGO and moved to a community of like-minded friends, we served the community, planted trees, built houses and had a lot of fun together, it transformed me as an individual.

Later I pursued M.B.A in finance from National Institute of Technology, Bhopal where I became familiar with management concepts and the world of finance, owing to my deep interest and the support given by my friends and faculties I successfully completed the two-year residential program and was awarded the silver medal in academics.

Destiny brought me back to the same organization, Capgemini, from where I had started my professional journey, but this time I had a different tune to play, I came across Agile and Scrum framework and it immediately resonated with my ideas about Management and teamwork, we decided to implement Scrum in our project and I was chosen as the Scrum Master, we had a wonderful team which performed exceptionally within Scrum. The traits of servant leadership came naturally to me, very soon I realized the underlying power and transformational ability of this simple framework since then I became a strong proponent of Agile and Scrum.

I strongly feel that Agile and Scrum will transform the world of work, I am observing that transformation taking place around me, yes there are challenges which need to be overcome by the community of people who are part of this transformational wave. I feel honored to witness this transformation and be a part of the community which is making it happen.
