Avneesh Bhatnagar possess more than Ten years of industry experience in Software development specifically in Software Product Development and Consulting. He has played key roles in Product, Project and Partner Engagement Management. Starting with web development he moved to Product management and took on Project Management as well before moving into engagement management.


Professional Experience:


Globallogic (formerly Induslogic) as Manager – Product Development, since Feb’06


Since joining GlobalLogic in February 2006, I have played different roles within the organization. Starting as a Product Manager for one of the partners UBmatrix along I had additional responsibilities of Project Management for the same partner project. Currently I am managing multiple partner engagements with revenue responsibilities like managing gross margins and partner satisfaction along with delivery.

Role and responsibilities:
•    Moved on to manage multiple partner engagements simultaneously with having individual project managers per project
•    Started with a span of 5 and increased that to 45 at peak levels
•    Attained responsibility for the complete delivery management for multiple partner engagements, managing 3 simultaneous accounts
•    Took upon Pre-sales activities for acquiring new business for the company working alongside the sales team as additional responsibilities
•    Being a certified SCURM Master I have been called upon to play the role of Agile coach across the partner engagements. I have myself steered at least 2 project teams from pure play waterfall to Agile development methodology
•    Have been involved in proposal writing, response to RFPs and presenting the company capabilities to new prospects
•    Have been involved with approx 25 pre-sales engagements with 19 of them converting to wins
•    Responsible for rate revisions, gross margin improvement and account mining
•    Have played the Account management role in the existing accounts with responsibilities of increasing the account size in terms of heads and revenue. In one of the accounts grew the engagement from a size of 5 to reach 17 in a span of 9 months
•    People management responsibilities accompanying the direct reporting of the project teams including appraisals, acting as a second level reviewer, administrative management, career planning, conflict resolution and containing attrition levels
•    Have been managing center of excellence around SaaS (Software as a service) which includes activities like generating awareness within the organization, generating new business and developing knowledge base/expertise to act as consultants to other departments
•    As part of the COE have conducted webinar and generated new leads for the sales team
•    Have been involved in the PMO and have conduct SEPG led process audits within the Business unit


June’02 – Feb’06:  Quark Media House India as Assistant Product Manager

Started with Quark in June 2002 with managing a web client (QMP) and subsequently moved on to play Product Manager for the whole of the QCM suite of products.
   
Role and responsibilities:

•    Played Product Manager for the enterprise marketing automation solution (including a Digital Asset Management solution) being developed for the publishing industry by Quark
•    Writing requirements specifications based on the customer feedback and market study.
•    Writing business use cases for R&D and QE teams
•    Product presentations and software demos to international audience at Customer Summit
•    Managing Usability study and UI prototype validation with customer visits along with the UI team
•    Defining the product roadmap and prioritizing the feature set
•    Coordination amongst the various teams involved in the product development including SCM (Software configuration management), Installers, UI developers, technical writers, R&D and QE
•    Getting the legal clearance for the product from the company’s legal cell with respect to the third party applications used, naming conventions etc
•    Customer expectation management w.r.t. request for product features and functionality
•    Overall product development life cycle from doing feasibility study to software release to the customers

Products Suite:

Quark Content Management Solution (QCM):
QCM is a suite of products, including Quark DMS a comprehensive content management server along with various clients that provide an end to end solution for a publishing workflow. The solution aims at automating the content generation/creation, review, edit/update, production and publishing to multiple channels.

Quark Media Portal (QMP):
This is the web client for the QCM solution that provides online access to content

Quark Brand Manager (QBM):
This is another client/interface for the system that allows it’s users to customize their print/web collaterals, mailers or any other MarComm related material while maintaining and ensuring overall brand identity.

Quark Web Copydesk:
This is an online tool to edit/modify QuarkXPress document without the need to learn Quark Xpress. This is particularly useful for copyeditors who are more concerned with content rather than layout.

Quark Dynamic Document Server (QuarkXPress Server):
This is a Server application that stores and renders QuarkXPress documents to a web page. It provides a platform for development of custom applications that consume and output QuarkXPress documents. It forms the basis for a big chunk of functionality provided in QCM related to editing and modification and viewing of QuarkXPress documents and projects

Quark SOAP Integration Framework:
This is a toolkit used to provide for an easy to use interface for external application developers including the System Integrators that want to create custom made solutions around QCM.

Quark Review Manager:
This is a client that provides for online viewing and review of QuarkXPress documents and commenting on the same in a collaborative manner. It supports multi user environment where multiple users simultaneously need to review and comment on one document or layout.


April’98-June’2001: Millennium Infocom Technologies Ltd (formerly Ace Internet Services) Delhi as Associate Web Development

Started working with Ace Internet Services Delhi as Associate Web Development, AIS was formed into Millennium Infocom Technologies Ltd in January’99. In January 2001 moved to Mindzone Infocom Technologies (under the same Management as MITL) in the capacity of Sr. Programmer.

Role and responsibilities:

•    Interacting with the client for requirement analysis and project specifications
•    Distribution and assignment of responsibilities and tasks to the team members and working under strict timelines
•    Was responsible for the interaction with the Product manager on specifications and CTO for technical issues
•    Interactions with the third parties including NSE (National Stock Exchange), web server companies etc regarding resolution of the technical issues
•    Was directly handling the recruitment, training and appraisal of the technical staff
•    Was handling the entire technical department in the absence of CTO
•    Developed the searchable database/repository of the code available with the organization
•    Installation and maintenance of the search engine to be used in the existing and future projects
•    Requirement analysis and System analysis
•    Installation of Red Hat Linux 6.2 server with apache
•    Server maintenance and resolving issues related with that
•    Task automation using cron daemon, Configuring the remote server smtp
