I help companies organize teams and practices around customer value so they can improve user outcomes and business impacts. I've coached and trained organizations internationally since 2010, and been a CST® since 2013. I first practiced Scrum in 2004 as product designer for ScrumWorks Pro™, one of the ‘big three’ players in the early agile tools market alongside Rally and VersionOne, logging over 8000 hours on high-fidelity Scrum teams before applying my experience to coaching & training.

Prior to 2004, I managed product design groups at both software and hardware product development companies. My software experience during the internet boom era provided a rich and often tragicomic illustration of the failures of traditional, defined-process management for software development.

My degree in Industrial Design adds a unique perspective in the software and product space. Industrial Design's inclusion of commercial production requirements in development makes Industrial Designers native iterative developers - maybe even some of the first agilists before it was a thing! My ID background helped get me into Microsoft's Geography Product Group in the late 90s creating dynamic mapping products before Google Maps and Google Earth dominated. This formal training in empirical product development and commercial success using Scrum informs my work helping organizations innovate and adapt toward their business goals.
