This CSPO course is focused on helping the participants run successful product development projects with their teams. We will look at all the levels of planning (from roadmaps to Sprint plans), how to work with your team to make good Sprints, and how to build and describe your backlog for real Agile. We will go beyond Scrum to help you understand what really makes Agile projects and product development "tick".

With the ideas and concrete examples presented on this course, you will run your product development efforts differently.

Please note, the course is not focused on product management or discovery, though elements of the topics will be discussed. These topics are large enough to warrant their own courses, and there is enough to talk about managing the product development work itself for three days. It's better to do one thing well, than three poorly.

The price is at VAT 0%. The applicable VAT is added to the course fee.

If you are booking a course as an individual, not on behalf of a company, we are here to support your personal development and this next step in your career, as we believe in the power of the community. So before you register, get in touch with us and find out about the ways we can support you and help.

The course is run like a Scrum project, with a course backlog and "Sprints". During the course, the participants can suggest new items to the backlog and they are prioritized along with initial backlog content. This is the initial backlog:

Product Owner vs. Product Manager
Why Agile for a PO?
Planning Onion
Release Planning Challenge
Release Planning Strategies and Mantra
Sprint Planning
Sprint Review and Stakeholders
Good User Stories
Writing User Stories
Refining and Splitting User Stories
Value Estimation
Effort Estimation

During the course, we will show practical examples of using these ideas in planning and leading in a real product development project.

This course is primarily for Product Owners, who want to learn how to use Scrum effectively for managing their product development work with their Team. Also, a lot of ScrumMasters who wish to learn how to mentor and help their PO's have found great value in the course.

It is assumed that participants have prior experience in using Scrum in some role, since this will help assimilating and relating to the course content.

However, anyone interested in the topic is welcome and will gain boatloads of knowledge. There will be preparation materials for those who would like to prep up their basic knowledge before starting the course.

After the course, you will receive all course materials for your own personal use, including the Miro board used during the course.

You will be expected to:

  • Attend all three days (Scrum Alliance requirement for certification)
  • Have your video on for most of the course
  • Participate actively in the group exercises, though you'll have the right to pass if you wish skip any given exercise
