About
I am a seasoned application developer with over 25 years’ experience in commercial software development, C#, C++/CLI, C++, C, Microsoft Windows.
I am fully versed in the Software Development Cycle and am a firm believer in close customer engagement during the process – after all they are the true judges of what we produce.
I fully believe in the Agile Manifesto. I strive to follow the manifesto in what I do, spreading the word and benefits of agile software development (with the help of Scrum) in Sage. Ensuring that the 'heart-beat' that is core to Scrum is followed every two weeks, delivering real value at the end of a sprint when working on Sage’s payroll products – Micropay and Quickpay.
I am passionate about what I do (delivering real value to our customers, in an agile, people driven environment). I don’t like to be pigeonholed, am always curious and a fast learner.
I believe people are key to a project's success. Instilling a sense of ownership, full participation and pride can do wonders for any given project.
As I have used open-source code and tools over the years I felt it only right to contribute back – I published an open source tool on GitHub for migrating tickets from Jira to TFS. The tool from what I can see was well received. I’ve also started to build up a StackOverflow profile which I hope to build upon over time.
