Taught by: Savita Pahuja

Why this course

Most OKR rollouts I've seen go sideways for the same reasons: teams confuse outputs with outcomes, leaders set too many objectives, and the framework becomes a tracking exercise instead of a decision-making tool. This course is built around the patterns I've watched succeed (and fail) across enterprise rollouts at major financial organizations. You'll leave with a working OKR draft for your own team and a clear sense of where the rollout is most likely to wobble.

How the course is delivered

Cohorts are kept small (max 15) so that every participant can apply the concepts to their own context during the session. The course is live online with hands-on practice - no recorded videos, no passive listening. Bring a real team or project you want to set OKRs for; you'll leave with draft objectives and key results ready to refine with your stakeholders.

Lesson 1 — Goal Setting Fundamentals

  • Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of SMART goals compared to non-SMART goals.

Lesson 2 — Strategic Planning and Alignment

  • List elements of strategic planning
  • Associate cascading goals to various departments based on the strategy scenario

Lesson 3 — Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)

  • Create an OKR set based on the strategy scenario
  • Compare different OKRs based on the alignment of team-level goals to the enterprise strategy
  • Summarize the need to align OKRs using at least three alignment mechanisms.

Lesson 4 — OKRs in Scrum and Antipatterns

  • Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of using OKRs within a Scrum framework.
  • Illustrate at least two OKR antipatterns in your organization
  • Scrum Masters and agile coaches introducing OKRs to their teams
  • Product Owners and product managers aligning team output to business outcomes
  • Engineering and delivery leaders running an OKR rollout across multiple teams
  • HR and people leaders connecting individual goals to organizational priorities
  • Consultants and trainers adding Agile OKRs to their toolkit
  • Anyone in an agile environment who wants OKRs to drive real decisions, not just sit in a slide deck
