I understand the CSPO is an introductory certification and some preface on Agile/Scrum is necessary, but the course was nonetheless more about general Agile/Scrum principles than it was the Product Owner role. We spent almost all of the first day in a 2-day training discussing roles performed by the Scrum Master.
When we did eventually turn to the product owner role, we covered only one paradigm for backlog prioritization, did not cover any strategies for eliciting requirements from stakeholders, and only topically glossed over story size estimation methodologies.
*please note that SimpliAxis substituted Maria in for the course at the last minute when I initially signed up for training with Aakash Srinivasan. I do not recommend taking any courses through SimpliAxis.
The most frustrating aspects:
- the lack of a formal agenda, syllabus, or any artifacts/documentation provided
- over 2 hours of breaks each day (reducing an 8 hour per day course to a 6 hour per day course)
- the lack of tailored information for product owners
