Blair Robinson

Blair Robinson joined SSA & Company in 2007 as certified Black Belt and Lean Expert from Honeywell.  As a Director, she leads large-scale business transformation projects for clients and works with client teams to increase profitability, drive operational excellence, manage large scale change initiatives, and develop self-sustaining process improvements.  She is well-versed in Lean, Kaizen, and DMAIC continuous improvement methods.

Since joining SSA & Company, Ms. Robinson has worked with clients in a variety of industries; most notably education management, financial and insurance services, and energy and utilities.  In her most recent engagement with Kaplan, a leading test prep provider, she helped manage their transition to an SBU business model by developing future state business processes and designing the supporting organization structure.  Post execution, she led a series of kaizen events within the call center and operations groups to optimize their new shared services and drive savings of over $3M in savings. 

During her engagement with Guy Carpenter, a full-service reinsurance intermediary, she performed an end-to-end global analysis of the contract management, claims management, and fiduciary accounting processes and facilitated a large-scale kaizen event in which $0.8M in savings were realized within 60 days.   In previous financial and insurance services engagements, she has worked with clients applying Lean Six Sigma principles and DFSS methodologies to processes such as benefit configuration, claims processing, collections, compensation, credit card servicing, and global accounts payable. 

Prior to joining SSA & Company, Ms. Robinson worked for Honeywell Aerospace as an Operations Excellence Manager.  In this role, she was the Lean Expert for the aftermarket distribution business, responsible for driving productivity improvements across 3 global sites.  Through her kaizen event leadership and coaching of teams on lean principles, the distribution centers achieved a 24% productivity increase and savings of over $1M in less than 1 year.  She also served as Program Manager of the European Regional Distribution Center where she managed the daily operations of several distribution center teams.

Ms. Robinson achieved her Black Belt and Lean Expert certifications Honeywell Automation Control Solutions.  Her design of lean flow lines and implementation of Heijunka scheduling resulted in a 42% productivity increase and a 49% reduction in cycle time for two subassembly factories.  She also led the implementation of several kanban programs with global customer and supplier sites to create a seamless supply chain. 

In previous roles, Ms. Robinson held a variety of supply chain positions that gave her a solid foundation on which to build her extensive lean six sigma expertise.  She was a Master Scheduler, Production Planner, and Buyer/Planner for several manufacturing factories.
