I just completed my CSPO certification through Scrum Alliance with instructor Dave Prior, and it genuinely exceeded every expectation I had walking in. Dave has a rare ability to weave his real-world experience so deeply into the curriculum that the framework stops feeling like a framework and starts feeling like something that actually matters. Every concept was grounded, contextual, and alive. He didn't just teach product ownership: he made it meaningful and immediately applicable. What set this apart was how responsive the experience was. When questions came up or curiosity pulled the room somewhere unexpected, Dave was right there: present, generous, and engaged in real time. No deflecting. No going over schedule, either, which is no small feat. Our cohort was small, which meant everyone could bring their own experiences into the room. There was one user story exercise in particular that wove in the concept of family in a way that I'll never forget, the kind of moment that makes the learning stick long after the course ends. This certification experience has genuinely changed how I think about my work. If you're considering the CSPO and have the opportunity to learn with Dave Prior, don't hesitate. This class was thoughtfully organized and clearly covered important topics for the CSPO certification. Dave was an engaging and experienced trainer, and his insight was valuable throughout the course. It was nicely balanced between lectures and hands-on group work.
