Course

This class will focus on Scrum from a Product Owner perspective and simultaneously to teaching we will work on a case, from idea to detailing a requirement ready for sprint planning.

As a Product Owner you are one member of a team, the Scrum Team. Members of a team work together to solve problems. In the team there are different kind of work, such as making business decisions, execute requirements, stay on course on how we work as a team. In Scrum there are no longer any roles but accountabilities. We have 3 different names for the team members in a Scrum Team. In short we can describe them as below

Product Owner: Accountable for business decisions.
Developer: Implement requirements
Scrum Master: Ensures the team stays on course in organizing work.

Within the Scrum Team, members collaborate closely in an iterative process, to solve problems and deliver incremental value to the product, supporting continues improvement and alignment with the organization.

Learn the essentials of working as a Product Owner in this two-day class.This two-day interactive course equips you with all you need to know about being an effective product owner.

At the end of the class, you will understand how you can leverage Scrum to optimise value creation and customer satisfaction. You will understand the Product Owner with its accountabilities, and its interaction with the other members of the Scrum team. You will be able to create a Product Goal, stock and refine the Product Backlog, order the backlog, and systematically refine requirements. You will also be able to create a realistic plan and track the project progress and understand how you can effectively collaborate with the ScrumMaster and Developers.

Objectives

 Each participant is trained to assume the responsibilities of a Certified Scrum Product Owner.

Prerequisite
We expect you to have some prior knowledge about Scrum and have preferably read the ScrumGuides.org.

Training

The training is done with a lot of exercises. Be prepared to do hard work. The training will give you the feeling of Scrum itself. Using anecdotes and experience, teaching the Scrum, and how to use it to be an effective leader of product development – you will learn to be a Product owner.

Time

Classes starts at 8:30am and end at 4:30pm.

Individuals wishing to attend the certification Scrum certification course should register now.

Course Material

Participants will receive printed and bounded material on the first day of class. The material is in English and will change from Training class to training class. The material will be enhanced by more slides, videos and other pictures in case the trainers will find this useful during class.

Class run from 8:30am - 4:30pm both days.

Certification

There is no test but you will certify if you follow and participate in class.

Clear and good

My company is using Scrum but i have recently become a Product owner. This product will definitely help me develop as such.

It was a good course and Jens had a lot of exercises and was very clear when he went over the material.

Knowledgable and very well prepared trainer who can react to every type of discussion that comes up. He has deep knowledge and a very nice aura.

This product is old, but is still running! That must be something worth while :)

Great course! A lot of material covered in two days — practical training and good teamwork. Jens Ostergaard is knowledgeable about the Scrum framework and how to apply it effectively. Ultimately, it all comes down to workplace culture and the engagement of the Scrum team members — but even a highly engaged team will struggle without genuine support and buy-in from upper management.

Jens was wonderful!! Information, activities, handouts, videos were all GREAT!!
