I thought we got some very good information here. However, I thought some of the actual content could have been improved in a couple of ways. To start, on the first day, we were tasked with coming up with an app idea, which we then spent the next 3 days mock developing. However, it wasn't clear that we were supposed to be coming up with app ideas that would drive the content of the entire workshop. Had I realized that, I would have tried to come up with something that more of the group could identify with, find interesting, and be able to contribute to. Instead, we ended up on something that 2 out of 3 of us didn't really know anything about, and didn't even seem fully clear to the person who initially suggested it. Next, while I'm sure it's a perfectly normal term to use in this environment, death marches are real, horrific historical events. Casually using the term to refer a suboptimal software development cycle feels very insensitive, to say the least.

Mark did an excellent job making the content approachable, drawing on real life examples to cement the key lessons. He brought the perfect mix of candor, professionalism, and humor to enable me to get the most of the course. The schedule was the proper ratio of teaching: hands-on doing to give us the chance to practice the concepts he taught us over the 3 days. I'd take a class with Mark again for any future PD in a heartbeat!

Loved the course, the tools, and the hands-on exercises. Overall the experience was very strong. One area for continued reflection may be ensuring that all learners feel equally seen and engaged during discussions, as subtle dynamics can sometimes shape participation even unintentionally.

I loved Mark and will definitely take more of his classes. He made the class fun, understandable and memorable. I would recommend him to everyone.
