About

Mark Jenkins started working on cell phones in the late 90's working on phone connectivity using InfraRed. This work progressed to include both USB and Bluetooth, and enabled me to contribute to both the USB 2.0 On The Go specification as well as to several Bluetooth profiles.

Around 2005 my work transitioned to email protocols and clients as the company I worked for chased Blackberry's dominance, as part of this work I restructured the team working for me to switch from a waterfall development process to be more agile and use Scrum to try and speed up development and better cope with the constant changes caused by chasing a moving target.

While the move to Scrum helped us release applications faster and with more quality than we had before, the market was changing again.
Due to the success our team had seen using Scrum, I consulted with multiple other teams across the organization to try and make our device development process more agile advising on how to implement processes like scrum of scrums to share progress information between co-operating development teams as well as working with project managers to switch them to maintaining a backlog rather than producing Gantt charts.

Since leaving the cell phone industry I have worked at a startup and a small company, implementing Scrum in both soon after starting.
The transition also allowed me to gain new skills in web development and SEO.
