About
"IT delivery - not IT misery" - I love to participate in the development of successful Java software projects. Great software development is a true craft that one should seek to master. I relish opportunities that allow me to problem solve - applying the skills that I've honed over a decade and learning new ones as required. In previous positions I have often unintentionally migrated into senior, lead, and architect roles by consistently providing teams with creative solutions to technical obstructions. I insist on learning not only from my own experiences, but also from my colleagues and peers. A developer should be reading, learning, and on a road of self-improvement - always. I expect nothing less of myself or my colleagues. I try to embrace anything that makes software development productive, professional and ultimately fun. I endeavour to avoid the sadly common bad practices that result in death-marches and IT misery. A project that doesn't deliver is a waste of months of effort to all concerned - therefore I focus on professional practices that support success.
