John Clapham

John Clapham is an experienced coach, trainer, and consultant, specializing in DevOps and Agile.  He helps teams to build great products, creating  environments and systems which are effective, productive and enjoyable to work in. Often this means introducing Scrum, or developing a deeper understanding of the method and it's principles.  John draws on broad experience as an engineer and lead,  he has built web and enterprise applications in government, publishing, telecommunications, commerce, defense and public sector arenas.  

His Agile journey started quietly in 2007, leading the development team for ingentaconnect.  In 2009 learning accelerated when he joined Nokia and obtained his Scrum Master and Product Owner Certifications.  Since then John has lead development teams using various Agile methods including Kanban.  John was Product Owner for the MixRadio Continuous Delivery Team, he helped transform the Entertainment platform release process from an expensive, once every three months exercise to a once every 30mins routine.  Improving Continuous Delivery capabilities lead John towards DevOps and a focus on the entire product lifecycle.  John has spoken at a number of conferences, including Agile Cambridge, DevOpsDays and The Agile Business Conference.

John is passionate about agile, coaching and finding new ways to help teams build great products.  He is a co-organiser and active member of the Bath Scrum User Group and occasionally blogs.  He has two rumbustious children leaving little time for any interests other than coffee, lego, pies and hiding.  @johnC_bristol, LinkedIn
