Joe Velez here. I am a self-taught (with the aid of god-like developers at my side) web developer. Started by editing select lines of code in an ASP shopping cart in the late 90's for Webcreators.com Proceeded to pick up a ColdFusion (don't laugh) book, and went that route for several years. Freelanced a while between positions and eventually a client needed a PHP project. Picked up another book. I've worked for small firms like Webcreators, Frontgate Creative (aka White Barn Group); medium sized companies including Intelligent Beauty (Beautyfix & Dermstore), and Surfline; and now CBS.com Over the years I have developed numerous skills from backend, front end, web hosting, server creation & maintenance, caching, version control, Scrum, and more. With these skills, and the skills of others, I have also been able to create a small side business that reached over 100 hosting clients.
