Ryan Smith is a technology professional who focuses on solving problems and helping great people reach their potential. With a diverse technical and strategic background, he facilitates highly-performing teams through the use of Agile and Lean techniques and cultural change. He has managed complex software and data projects for over a decade with a proven track record of delivering value. He also specializes in Business Process Analysis and Optimization with an eye toward facilitating improvements that increase ROI and elevate the sustainability of the organization’s value delivery mechanisms. Ryan entered the IT industry almost two decades ago as a developer and systems architect. These beginnings developed a strong technical perspective that serves him in team communication to this day. Seeking to broaden his communication skills and influence successful outcomes even further, Ryan transitioned to team leadership via the PMI track. The skills and experience he gained during this time period built a solid foundation of project management expertise. Looking to broaden his skill-set even further, Ryan gained experience with the Agile mindset and it has become his preferred philosophy since it closely aligns with his natural tendencies. Believing that a highly-performing team that is empowered, autonomous, and self-improving is the best way to deliver value, Ryan helps to affect organizational change and provides expertise in the Agile mindset and Agile tactics such as Scrum and Kanban. He helps his customers define and focus on valuable work products and brings a sense of pragmatism to the pursuit of these initiatives. Ryan is also an active participant in the Agile community and wishes to continue to help expand and broaden its base. He participates in local Agile groups, provides public training service offerings within his organization, and is active on social media and user groups.
