Greg Busse
After graduating college in 1998 I became a software developer for about ten years. I specialized in Microsoft technologies like .NET and C#. During the course of my career as a developer I worked on many different kinds of projects in many different industries. Examples include converting a paper-based mortgage application into a web-based form, a call center management application, business-to-business data conversion projects, and several e-commerce websites. I used Agile in my development career for about 5 years.
After ten years of development work I decided that I wanted a change and decided to become a Scrum Master when the opportunity arose at the company I was working for at the time. My manager granted my request and took to the role quickly. I soon discovered that I really liked being a Scrum Master and I after getting laid off at that company I immediately got my CSM certification. Since then I have been a contractor helping large companies tranform from waterfall to Agile.
In recent years I have helped teams at companies like Nokia, Discover, Blue Cross Blue Shield of illinois grow and flourish in Agile practices and behaviors. For the last three years or so I have been mentoring and coaching new Scrum Masters when given the opportunity. In my current role at JPMorgan Chase I am a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, and a part-time trainer who helps our internal Agile Community teach classes and run seminars on Agile and Scrum.
