Title: Agile Trainer

I’m Abayomi Bankole, called Yomi by my colleagues and friends. I have over 5 years experience of Agile, working on complex e-Procurement software projects to some of the largest healthcare software development projects as well as business change projects.

I started my IT career in 2004 managing the GIS implementation project for Shell in Nigeria. I developed an interest in Information technology from this project and later got a job with First Tradelinks Ltd in New York as a Project Manager for their e-Procurement software. There I came in contact with Scrum framework in 2009. It was different from the waterfall methodology I was used to and with an open mind I learnt and adopted the framework.

I have used scrum framework and kanban to lead and improve the productivity of geographically dispersed software development teams at First tradelinks and EMIS, and currently in delivering business change programmes for NHS England through coaching the business change teams to work in weekly sprints, have daily prioritisation meetings (daily stand-up), use of trello board (kanban board) and having sprint retrospectives to help identify improvements to the way we work.

Apart from being certified as a Scrum Master and Product Owner with Scrum Alliance, I am also PMI-PMP and PRINCE2 certified Project Manager.

I currently live and work in West Yorkshire in England, I’m married with a son and two daughters. I love martial arts training when I’m free and bodybuilding too. I’m currently learning mandarin as a third language.
