Biography

Tony Ackroyd works in American Express as a Senior Manager and has since worked in a mix of Business and Technical roles.  He has worked on the World Service Portal programme for four years and as a Product Owner for over 3 years.

Tony has implemented 3 projects using Scrum, primarily focusing on Payments functionality.  He has also worked as a 'Chief' Product Owner, defining the Business POA, high level requirements and user stories for other Product Owners to deliver.  He is currently working on the implementation of 2 more projects using Scrum, one supporting Online functionality the other on Contact Details.

Tony has utilised Kanban/Lean techniques to manage prototyping for two projects and about to start using it for another.

Tony has a lot of old knowledge about customer relationship management.  He is qualified as a CSPO and a Certified Business Analyst.  Before Amex Tony worked for the UK Post Office in a large diversity of management roles.

Tony enjoys travel, live music, scuba diving, strategic games and playing the bass guitar very badly.

Tony lives and works in Brighton, UK and is married with two young children.
