Vijay Iyer

Vijay Iyer is a Certified Scrum Professional who serves ThoughtWorks as a Senior Delivery Principal since July 2005.    He has extensive experience in planning, managing and driving complex projects and multi-project programs in a wide variety of business domains and has successfully managed co-located and distributed delivery using scrum, XP and lean development techniques.  He is also accomplished in organizational agile transformation, running agile assessments, planning and executing large multi-project programs, and meaningful communication and reporting to C-level executives.

In general, his role at Thoughtworks involves the following day to day responsibilities:

• Overall delivery assurance and managing project governance  (change & risk management)
• Work with the product owner and development team on release planning, and ensure that the release plan meets the product roadmap
• Plan team capacity for a sprint working with the development team
• Assist business analysts, developers and testers in being more productive by removing blockers
• Shield the team from tasks that are not relevant to the core deliverable
• Facilitate scrum meetings (Daily stand-ups, retrospectives, sprint reviews and sprint planning meetings)
• Manage project reporting out to external stakeholders/management
• Single point of contact for scope vs. time vs. capacity impact analysis
• Escalation point to program management of blockers
• Define resourcing needs
• Manage and co-ordinate dependencies with other products/projects/vendors
