#1. Online Enrollment Platform

Description : Benefitfocus eEnrollment platform built on Java, Angular.JS/DUST.JS and Oracle helps their carriers, employers to manage the health benefits management they offer to the employees / customers. It’s a complex multi-tenant platform supported by host of other tools and applications. Users can log in and manage their health benefits, by shopping and comparing plans side-by-side and choosing what suits them the best. Carrier and Employer admins can also manage the end users and enroll on their behalf.
AppBuilder is an in-house IDE framework built on top of .NET framework 3.5 and SQL Server 2008. This platform provides the base for host of web applications built for various clients. This uses the WF for workflow management in the platform and WCF & REST for building services. This framework allows developers to build different applications and each application can be accessed by different employers (called tenant). The users log in to their specific tenant and only see what they need to. The security is handled using user security role groups. This system also provides an easy integration with other systems within the company and also with applications of partner systems. The systems implement a Single Sign On technology where a user is only required to login to one system and can effortlessly navigate to any other system.

Description : This is a quality audit system for Quality department in Amerigroup who audits the claims processed by the claims processing team or auto adjudicated claims. This involves a suit of application, extraction and sampling process. There are two types of audits: Pre-paid audit and Post-paid audit. Pre-paid samples for audit are generated every morning and assigned to the auditors based on their skill set and market preferences. Post-paid samples are generated every Monday and assigned to auditors based on the skill set and market preferences. There is workflow system built in which has the rules on which sample should get a priority assignment. The extraction and sampling process is a SSIS package that runs daily / weekly based on type of audit. There are around 100 reports built using SSRS which are useful for both senior management and audit and claims teams. Whenever auditor finds a problem with a claim, they will record the error and assign it to respective claims processor. The claims processor either fixes the problem or provides the feedback and route it back to the auditor. If the dispute is not resolved at the first-level, it can go up to 3 levels to supervisors and managers on both claim and audit teams.

Description : This project is an extension of the FSA done for SHPS. Claims processing is functionality introduced to the existing administration system (SAMS 2.0) to remove the additional functions from the Powerplus application used by SHPS. The introduction of auto-adjudication of FSA paper claims gives SHPS an opportunity to increase the profit margin by reducing the costs of processing claims, improving the quality of claims processing, and increasing the throughput rate of processed claims. The Claims processing system will allow the processing and reimbursement of claims for various types of Spending Accounts, such as Health Care FSA, Dependent Care FSA, Limited Health Care FSA, Health Reimbursement Arrangement, and Commuter Reimbursement Account

Description : SHPS Inc. is a health management and insurance firm head quartered at Louisville and situated in many other locations in USA. SHPS have over 700 clients in USA for which it provides medical and insurance related services. Currently we are supporting SHPS in Quality assurance and maintenance of FSA, TAM, CORE etc. FSA is a tax saving plan where the participant will contribute a part of the salary to FSA account. He can claim the amount spent on medical expenses from his account and the entire amount he contributes to FSA is non-taxable. My role includes gathering the requirements from the client, analyzing them, communicating with the offshore team with the requirements and deploying the system here.

Description : Order entry system provides SHPS customers to order several documents that are required by them that forms the communication between SHPS and them. This is an online system where the clients can login and order for the documents and prefers the mode of sending the same. There are available in three forms: a physical path of the document that the client can access, an attachment with email or a printed document delivered to the client’s address. There will be the templates available for different types of documents, user can select the template and supply the content. The template and the content will be merged and a PDF is given to the user as output.
#6. Content Transfer and Billing Engine (CTBE)

Description : This engine delivers the WAP-STK content to mobiles. There is a third party system DP5 (Delivery Platform 5) involved in this. The user will click on the items present in a special menu in their mobile phones; the request will reach the SMSC of the mobile operator. CTBE will receive this request from SMSC, sends the request to DP5 in the format which it can understand, receives the response from DP5. For each item in the menu, the amount to be charged is also maintained by the system. CTBE sends a billing request to an external system, which charges the customer. Once the transaction is successfully charged, the response will be sent to SMSC that will be delivered to the user. Apart from this the mobile user can configure the items that he wants on his interactive menu.

Description : ECPA is a content delivery platform that delivers the content for the mobile phone users. It enables different content providers to serve various types of content (text messages, ring tones, logos etc) to the subscribers using a common channel. It communicates with various sub-systems like SMSC and billing. The content provider systems can connect to ECPA platform via HTTP/WSDL and TCP/IP. ECPA system receives the user requests from SMSC and it routes them to the respective content provider based on the short code to which they are sent. Content provider will send the response message (text, ring tone, logo etc) back to ECPA with the amount to be charged included. The system will then check if the user is prepaid or postpaid. If user is a postpaid one the content will be delivered to the user and the amount will be charged to user’s bill. And if the user is prepaid, the system will check if the user has enough balance and if he/she has, the amount will be deducted from his balance and the content will be delivered. If the user does not have enough balance, a message will be sent to the user indicating the same.

Description : MMS is automation of different activities carried out in coal mines. All the activities carried out in a coal mine like employee attendance, payroll, production, stores, survey, safety, explosives and public relations are computerized. This enables greater accountability and monitoring of these activities in the coal mines. This system is implemented in over 10 coal mines of SCCL until now. I was involved right from the study phase until the implementation phase in this project. There are basically two types of coal mines: underground and open cast. And the way the operations are carried out in these two types of mines differ to some extent. The system is designed in such a way that it can be implemented in any SCCL coal mine with a minimum customization.
