Senior Infrastructure Project Manager
This engagement is with the IT Infrastructure and Operations Central Group. PG&E is a highly regulated utility. This position is in support of the electrical proection systems and is primarily working with the utiility and operational data networks. Using primarily Ruggedcom and Cisco CGS technologies, I have managed projects from requirements through construction. This includes Fiber Optic (OSP& ISP, including long distance installation of OPGW and ADSS cabling) and Microwave transport, VHF/UHF/Satellite radio systems, utility protection systems, emergency response base camp IT deployment packages, substation construction, and specialized projects for CALTRAIN and the Port of Oakland. I have managed construction projects in substations, on transmission and distribution lines, in facilities, and remote rural sites.

This engagement is to consolidate the University of California's San Diego distributed data centers to their southern data center in Irvine, CA. This is a green field Data Center installation using Cisco UCS and ACI topographies, with VMware's Validated Design Software Designed Data Center technologies with supporting hardware and networking using NSX, Nutanix, Citrix, and Nexus technologies. Implementing advanced storage technologies, and CommVault's backup and recovery, using NetApp NAS and PureStorage. Managed additional projects including a new domain Active Directory with cloud technologies, migration to Office-365 and Exchange in the cloud, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) with IronPort, ProofPoint, and Digital Guardian, and other small technology improvement projects.
