About

Title: PMO

Susana Rodrigues e Silva

Currently working at CEiiA, an innovation and excellence centre in Portugal, I've started as the scrum master when transitioning the different teams to agile in the Intelligent Systems Mobility Unit, was the team coordinator and portfolio manager, and now I'm CEIIA's PMO.

Until June 2015, I've work at Alert Life Sciences Computing SA, a software company that develops global IT healthcare solutions, as:

  • the team leader of the analysis team in the Clinical division of the development department of the company, which includes the product functional analysis, design and quality control teams;
  • the product owner for the development teams which are under the clinical documentation unit responsibility;
  • the scrum master of the product functional analysis team.

 Those roles entail the responsibilities of team management with the required skills of leadership and communication, the responsibilities of the SCRUM methodology organizing and conducting the scrum ceremonies, preparing and monitoring the sprint backlog, and the responsibilities related with the product functional analysis itself:  establishing the bridge between customer needs and the company to define requirements specifications to support the design and development of features within the Electronic Health Record, analysing and modelling the business processes, conceptualizing solutions, and testing the deployed features against specified acceptance criteria.

Additionally, and considering my product expertise, whenever required I've performed and supported the product demonstrations worldwide.

I was also involved in the development process review workgroup and I was the responsible by the requirements management process improvement for the CMMI certification.

When I first started work here I was a Content Specialist that created generic clinical content and, in 2008, I was also the person responsible for the content used in demonstrations. I later became the Nursing Content Team Leader and was made responsible for researching, creating, and mapping nursing standard content as well as the overall management of the team.

Before deciding to change my career path, from nursing practice to clinical decision support through better information systems, I worked for almost seven years in the clinical practice. First, in the Portuguese Oncology Institute for approximately eight months, and then in Local Healthcare Unit – ULS Matosinhos, EPE.

During this time I strengthened my leadership, teamwork, problem-solving and decision-making abilities and I’ve acquired expertise in solving problems using technology to improve processes and a solid grasp computer systems, software development and deployment methodology and along with my experience, my personal skills – creative, thinking laterally to come up with innovative solutions for software product implementations; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and within tight time constraints,  and easily adaptable initiative taker and a great willingness to learn – I'm able to excel and guide the teams to excel as well.
