EXPERIENCE

Groupon Sr. Technical Program Manager

July 2019 – Present (10 months)

In Groupon, I was able to play the role of Product Manager and Sr. Technical Program Manager for initiatives related to Sellers/Merchants. These initiatives focused on "Increase Supply via Self-Service Tools", "Increase MSAT via Self-Management and Self-Support Tools" and "Accelerate Sales via Deal Builder Tools".

As a TPM, I work closely with Product Managers, Editorial Team, Sales Ops Team, Risk Team and Engineering Managers to ensure all dependencies and technical integrations move forward for the project. Based on this understanding, I would create project roadmap and communicate this to management to show milestones in a much easier to read way. My reports focus on high-quality data to make better decisions and these reports are automated from different data sources like Excel, JIRA Portfolio and ProductBoard.

On a daily basis, I talk to engineers to understand what we are delivering, where the risks are and what is still outstanding. On weekly and monthly, I could be interacting with all parts of the company. That depends on the project and the current need.

Recommended and agreed with the various stakeholders on the Vision, OKRs, scope, implementation plans, methodology, channels, tech-stacks needed, deliverables, KPIs to be monitored and others.
  • Coached 8 Delivery Squads and 4 Business Squads in Agile ways of working, build transparency across management, deployed JIRA Portfolio report for real-time change canvas report, and also supported DevOps teams.
  • Deployed JIRA reports to evaluate team metrics and make recommendations to teams and management for improvements.
  • Attended Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives to capture feedback and continuously improve Agile guidance, training materials and content.
  • Coached business and digital team to create quick prototypes using "Mobile-first design approach". This helped the clients to design draft prototypes during their Customer visit.
  • Deployed people framework and employee care strategy that facilitated smooth service commencement and embedded cultural change. Worked with "Developer Advocates" to evaluate current, desired and latest tech-stack needed for new initiatives and innovations. Utilized "Dreyfus Model" and "T-shaped concept" to find gaps in skills and restructure the technical teams based on features to be delivered to the market. This reduced release cycle by 62%.
