Christian Liebnitz

Christian Liebnitz is a Scrum Master at the IT department of Germany's largest statutory pension insurance, Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund. He has more than 15 years of experience in IT.

Christian started as a software developer for Java Enterprise applications. After some time architectural work were among his tasks. In 2011 Christian became a leader of a development team and he took over the responsibility for a project as a project manager.

At the beginning of 2012 the decision was made to use Scrum as development approach for a small part of the existing product development. This was the first time he came into contact with an agile framework. In 2013 he received the Scrum Master certification. The new product was developed just in time with customer involvement. A strong partnership between business-department and IT-department was established. The conclusion is that the introduction of the agile approach was very successful. That was the starting point for an agile journey in the department. Since 2014 he has been preparing and accompanying the agile transition process of his department. Now 10 teams are working together in an agile scaled approach. Including all supporting functions and the whole Product Owner organization there are working more than 200 people.

Christian is still working as a Scrum Master and because of his experience he's more than this. He's working for the growth of the organization, to be more agile. Across departments borders.
