Scott Kilbourne – Scott is the owner of Kilbourne Consulting, a software process improvement company which has been in business since the early 90s. With over 35 years of experience in a variety of organizations (from weapons programs to medical products to banking/investment firms) he specializes in helping companies and individuals improve their work process.
Starting in the mid-80s he helped teams within Texas Instruments and the Aluminum Company of America achieve levels 1 – 3 on CMM and CMMI related process improvement activities. Being certified as a Quality Auditor he has also helped companies achieve ISO certification and improve their process through the Malcolm Baldridge Award. More recently he has been engaged helping companies and organizations (such as the E-Business divison of Citigroup and UPS) to adopt the Scrum framework and become more agile.
With the upsurge in companies adopting agile (around 2006) he saw an increase in companies asking for help doing this. Now, he routinely works with companies to help them ''become more agile". Companies he has worked with include; UPS, Fidelity Investments, Federal Reserve Bank, Credit Suisse, Citigroup, General Motors, USCellular, Verizon, Aramark and L’Oreal, Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE), and TAP Pharmaceuticals.
Working as a trainer (both presenter and author) he has taught many organizations in such topics as Requirements Management, Project Management, Quality Assurance, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Testing (certified ISTQB), Configuration Management, Rational Unified Process, Business Analysis and Business Process Reengineering.
