Robyn Young

For the past 5 years, I have served daily as a Scrum Master at CarMax. As a Scrum Master, I have used Scrum and Kanban to manage cross-functional web teams composed of IT, creative, product management, consumer and business analysis, consultant and vendor professionals on technically complex, concurrent, and large-scale programs and projects. Additionally, I have leveraged Agile Lean UX principles and processes to deliver iterative improvements to the carmax.com site and its supporting micro sites. As a Scrum Master, I have served as a liaison with integrating and potential vendors, including budget management. I have worked closely with other project managers to ensure that processes, tools, and communications are consistently and effectively utilized across the portfolio. In addition to managing, training and developing more junior project managers and scrum masters, I have worked consistently with existing teams to ensure their continued maturity with Agile Scrum and Kanban. I have trained new teams in the utilization of Agile Scrum and Kanban principles. I have taught several classes in relative estimation and facilitation tools, like Lean Coffee, to a variety of stakeholders. For the past year, I have served on the board of Agile Richmond. Agile Richmond provides monthly educational seminars to existing and perspective agilists in the Richmond metropolitan area. Additionally, Agile Richmond hosts the signature annual Innovate Virginia conference, which promotes the use of innovative methods of delivery such as Lean, Agile and Kanban. My focus in the 2015-2016 program year has been using Kanban to manage the redesign of the Agile Richmond web site.
