Donna Farmer has held leadership positions in a wide variety of industries ranging from Congress, to banking, to high-tech non-profits and has a strong record of success in growing strong organizations that nurture innovation and outreach. 

Most recently, Donna was the CEO TOR LLC, a strategic direction consultancy that she founded in 2002. Prior to that position, Donna was Director, Global Networks, of the Association for Competitive Technology, where she built a global network of regional advisors—senior technology company executives who are experts about the overall high-tech arena. Before joining ACT, Donna was Executive Director of Vivit (2007 – 2009), the endorsed users’ group for Hewlett-Packard’s software products, where she led advocacy, communication, and education for the customer community.

Prior to those positions, Donna served as CEO of the Smart Card Alliance, the industry group of 185 leading companies in banking, financial services, communications, entertainment, and healthcare that was created when she merged the Smart Card Forum (for which she had been CEO since 1998) with the Smart Card Industry Association. Before that, she served as Vice President of Strategic Business Development at CertCo, a firm engaged in risk management and security solutions and a spin out of Bankers Trust.

Donna has experience with the US government as well. She served for two years as counsel to the Subcommittee on Technology of the Science Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives, where she was responsible for information technology-related issues. She holds a J.D. from New York Law and a B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University. She is a member of the New York, Washington, DC, and Florida bars. When required by the position she has been granted and held Top Secret security clearance.
