Since our company is going towards implementing Scrum and agile processing, I needed to learn how this would incorporate into our environment. Currently, Scrum is not working for us but it is in its initial stages so hoping it will improve. The process and progress is very slow; projects are now getting done over longer periods of time than before. I was hoping this class would help me understand where the bumps are and smooth them out. I wish there were more actual discussions that could be applied to real, every-day issues. From our group of 9 team members, only 2 were developers so spending so much time on Scratch was not useful as none of us will be using it in our daily work environment. The Scratch explanations were too fast to follow for most of the attendees so it felt frustrating but also because it didn’t bear any relevance to our regular workday.
Adding a daily agenda to all attendees before the actual training started would have been helpful. This is also something I will ask from our end as it will give everyone a better idea of what is in store and determine if the class is even suitable for us.
All 9 of us were on Eastern time (Florida) so for us it was from 10-2 with only a 15 min break making everyone skip their lunches (we survived of course!).
But I do want to thank Sherman for all the material and games he put together. I know it's hard to cover every aspect since every customer is looking for something different. I am still glad that I attended!
