  • Hold an active Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO) certification

  • Fully attend and actively participate in this A-CSPO course

  • Log at least 12 months of Product Owner experience (within the last 5 years) on your Scrum Alliance profile

Cancellation & Transfer Policy

We understand that life happens. If an emergency arises, we’ll do our best to help you transfer to another class date. However, we do not offer cancellations or refunds.

Key Learning Areas:

This Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner® (A-CSPO) course builds on your CSPO foundation with practical techniques and strategic insights to help you lead product efforts with confidence - even in complex, high-stakes environments. Key areas we explore include:

Agile & Product Thinking Revisited: Reconnecting with the principles that drive agility - not just speed, but adaptability, value focus, and continuous learning. Learn to think beyond features and drive toward outcomes.

Advanced Stakeholder Engagement: Techniques to align competing interests, facilitate better decisions, and navigate tricky political waters - without losing your mind or your mission.

Product Discovery & Validation: Modern tools for finding the right thing to build - including assumption testing, dual-track Agile, and AI-powered research - so you waste less time and deliver more value.

Working with Teams & Backlogs: Collaborate more effectively with developers, refine your backlog with clarity, and make the Definition of Done your best friend (not your nemesis). Includes backlog hygiene, slicing techniques, and story mapping.

Forecasting, Prioritization & Strategy: Move beyond gut instinct with forecasting methods, prioritization frameworks, and tools to align delivery with customer needs and business goals.

The Evolving Product Owner & AI: Explore how AI can boost your decision-making, research, and communication - while understanding its limits. This is not about replacing the PO. It's about becoming a more strategic one.

Learning happens through peer interaction, hands-on exercises, simulations, and expert-led discussions focused on real challenges you bring to class.

Breaks & Q&A: Our sessions are built for focus, not fatigue. You’ll get a one-hour lunch break and two 15-minute breaks each day. Brian typically sticks around after class for optional Q&A and discussion.

The Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner® (A-CSPO) course is designed for Certified Scrum Product Owners (CSPOs) with at least one year of hands-on experience in the Product Owner role who are ready to level up their skills and strategic impact.

This course goes far beyond the basics taught in CSPO. You'll sharpen your ability to manage stakeholders, define value, discover the right product, and guide your team with clarity - even in uncertainty. It’s built for real-world agility, not just theory.

Scrum Alliance Prerequisites for A-CSPO Certification:

  • Hold an active Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification with Scrum Alliance.

  • Successfully complete this A-CSPO educational offering (including active participation).

  • Document at least 12 months of work experience specific to the Product Owner role (within the last 5 years) on your Scrum Alliance profile.

Note: You may attend the course before completing your 12 months of experience, but Scrum Alliance will only issue your A-CSPO certification once all requirements are met.

This course is especially valuable for:

  • Experienced Product Owners ready to lead with more influence and insight

  • Product Managers and Business Analysts who work in Agile environments

  • Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches supporting product-focused teams

  • Anyone on the journey toward Certified Scrum Professional® - Product Owner (CSP-PO)

Course Expectations & Participation

This Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner® (A-CSPO) course is a highly interactive, experiential learning environment. Your active participation, willingness to share your real-world Product Owner experiences (successes and struggles!), and engagement with fellow participants are crucial for maximizing learning value for everyone - and for meeting the A-CSPO learning objectives required for certification.

We expect all participants to:

  • Arrive on time for the start of the course and after breaks

  • Remain fully present and engaged during all course activities, exercises, and discussions. This includes enabling your webcam throughout the live sessions, as required by Scrum Alliance for virtual training

  • Participate from a quiet environment conducive to collaborative learning, free from significant distractions

  • Behave in a professional manner. Anything that would get you in trouble with your HR department could get you removed from the class

  • Treat your fellow students with respect at all times. If we receive a complaint, we will investigate - and if supported, we will take action and remove you from the course

Attendance Policy: Due to the highly interactive nature of this course - and Scrum Alliance requirements for live training hours - participants may not miss more than 15 minutes of total class time. If you exceed that limit, you’ll need to reschedule for a future offering to receive your certification (additional fees may apply based on our transfer policy).

We look forward to collaborating, sharing insights, and advancing your Product Owner mastery together!
