The course gave me an opportunity to learn new tools, concepts and techniques in Product Ownership, which I believe will impact on the delivery of my assignments.
The course was okay but a lot of things could be improved upon.1. A lot of questions were 'answered' by the teacher rewording them and talking about how important the question is, without actually answering or providing guidance.2. Scrum has been around for decades but a lot of the scenarios and content in this course are just as old. It would be very beneficial to use content from the past few years or to talk through how Scrum has improved over the years and what new technology is out there.3. A lot of the practice time was spent around creating a new product but as I spoke with my team mates, they were all there for ways to improve an existing product. I think that it could be useful to discuss/practice scenarios for a product that has existing for years and how it can be improved.4. Clearer instructions are needed for the breakout sessions. Most of the time, our group spent the first minute or two confirming what it was that we were supposed to accomplish.5. 7-14 attendees had their video off at any given moment. It was highly emphasized that showing your camera was required and was a little annoying that it was not enforced.6. The first day was spent recapping Scrum which seemed like a bit of a waste. Everyone there already knew scrum so it would be nice to have CSM be a pre-req for this so that more time can be spent on the product-side.7. There was also a lot of time pent (at least 1 hour per day) where the teacher just read the groups Miro/Mural board over and over which doesnt seem like the best use of time.All in all - it felt like a course that I had to pay for and sit through in order to have a couple of new letters on my resume and hopefully get a promotion.
